Blair is one of the most evil people to have held office but I completely disagree about the United Kingdom. It took me the best part of 50 years to realise that any and all political unions are forged in weakness and are soviet in nature. If any of the constituent states or countries are not already weak then they are systematically weakened to confect a sense that a union will make them stronger.

The same, entirely unnatural way of thinking is applied at the individual level; alone you are weak, together we are strong. This is the conditioning they use to hoodwink workers into joining unions which will just take their money and their representation and use it to advance the union's own, socialist agendas.

I have a natural affection for my Welsh, Scottish and Irish brethren but their proclivity for socialism is what keeps them weak and the British government strong. No political union is a good union, and a "return to the United Kingdom" (whatever that means, whatever period you're referring to) will keep us weak and the government strong.

Establishing an English parliament may be necessary in the future when we actually have any English MPs. What we need to start with is local governance in the hands of the governed. We should all aspire to live in a local community where we consent to any local rules and laws rather than having a local (soviet) council which is just an extension of central government dictating what we can and can't do in and with our own homes.

Eventually we might get back to having control of our shires and counties but that will never happen without a fight. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing much evidence of people with the backbone for it.
